In June, leaders from Nature’s Sunshine Canada visited Nature’s Sunshine corporate headquarters in Utah. During their visit, leaders worked together to help pack and provide 500 meal kits for students of Larsen Elementary and Park Elementary in Spanish Fork, Utah.
Each kit contained two days of meals and snacks to help support students experiencing hunger. The kits will be distributed to students and their families with the help of our partners at Larsen Elementary and will be available throughout summer months when students are out of school and unable to access free or reduced lunch from school.
“Thank you so much to the Impact Foundation for organizing such an amazing event for our team from Canada! Everyone enjoyed learning about the children who would be receiving the care packages we were putting together,” said Rhancha Trick, Nature’s Sunshine Canada Director of Business Development. “It was very emotional for many of them and many of them told us that it was one of the highlights of their trip to Utah. They were very impressed with the work that the Impact Foundation does to support communities in need. We were honored to be able to help.”
Larsen and Park Elementary are two of Nebo School District’s Title I schools that help support low-income students. Schools that are classified as a Title I school, receive additional federal funding to support their students. The amount of funding a Title I school receives is based on a formula calculated from those students that qualify to receive free or reduced lunch through the federal food program.
