Nature’s Sunshine Products (Nasdaq: NATR), the parent company of Synergy Worldwide, a leading natural health and wellness company of premium-quality herbal and nutritional products, together with the Impact Foundation, is committed to supporting organizations who align closely with their mission. The Impact Foundation is the philanthropic arm of Nature’s Sunshine Products and Synergy WorldWide.

Synergy Worldwide recently held an event in  Las Vegas, Nevada to celebrate together at the annual Leadership Conference. During the conference, leaders from several regions across Asia dedicated time to give back with the Impact Foundation.

An estimated 1,000 volunteers gathered to pack 4,200 weekend crisis meal kits for children in the Las Vegas community. These kits included two full days of meals for children facing malnutrition, and whose only meals often come from a school-provided meal program. These students face an added challenge of finding meals on the weekends and holidays when school is not in session.

“It was incredible to share the day with these Synergy leaders who helped to provide weekend meals for students in-need,” said Lora Forbush, Senior Manager of the Impact Foundation. “They are truly making an impact by helping fill empty bellies so that these students can spend more time being a kid on the weekend and spend less time trying to find food to eat.”

For this project, the Impact Foundation partnered with Serving Our Kids Foundation, a local non-profit organization dedicated to feeding and serving the needs of Clark County Homeless and at-risk students. Serving Our Kids Foundation distributes approximately 4,500 weekend food bags to children, in over 100 schools, from grades K-8 on a weekly basis.

“The food you all donated helped us create 4,200 weekend meal bags for food insecure children in Clark County,” said Laurie Tanakaya, CEO of Serving Our Kids Foundation. “We are incredibly grateful to all of the volunteers from the different countries who helped put together the meal bags and we hope they had as much fun as we did.”

Together, volunteers were able to make an impact in the lives of many children by providing food for them when they would otherwise be without.
